Larry has worked as a health educator from 1988-1996, a Program Director from 1996-2006 and the Council Director since 2006.  Larry enjoys his job thoroughly, enjoys working with people and being a part of the solution.  When he is not working, he enjoys being with his wife and children.  He also enjoys mowing the lawn.

Kathryn Olmstead

Kathryn is the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator.  She helps to build corporate identity and awareness and maintains the Council’s website and app.  Kate also co-organizes the Northern Tier Providers Coalition Conference.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English and a master’s degree in Literacy.  Outside of work, Kate loves to spend time with her little family and enjoys a good book!

Raisha is the Business Manager of Seaway Valley Prevention Council.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University in Accounting.  Her position within the council is unique as she is a shared employee with two other agencies and works within the tri-county area.  She has been with the Council for six years.  In her free time, she enjoys making all kinds of crafts and camping.

Patti is the North Country Regional Addictions Resource Center Coordinator.  she is a Credentialed Prevention Professional with the Seaway Valley Prevention Council.  Throughout the years Patti has worked in parenting education, prevention counseling, many community projects and she is currently a member of the Creating Cultivating Healthy Communities Coalition.

Travis Jordan

Travis is a Program Assistant for the Advancing Tobacco Free Communities Grant.  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Community Health from SUNY Potsdam. When he’s not working with the Prevention Council, Travis can be found on the soccer field either coaching his modified boys soccer team, or competing himself, in games around the north country.

Joey is the Reality Check Coordinator for a NYS Bureau of Tobacco Control youth program, Reality Check, in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. When he’s not busy creating a tobacco-free generation, Joey is busy coaching dancers and cheerleaders in the North Country.

As the Peer Engagement Specialist, Kate works to help people pursue multiple pathways to recovery from alcohol and substance use disorders.  She has an Associate’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Sociology.  When she isn’t busy helping others, Kate can be found cooking while listening to podcasts, cuddling her cats, or relaxing at her family’s camp in the Adirondacks.

Emily Uppstrom

Emily is a Health Educator at the Seaway Valley Prevention Council.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and a minor in Human Services.  She primarily works with youth in our community to educate them on teen problem gambling (YOU(th) Decide program) as well as with teens who may be experiencing mild to moderate alcohol and drug abuse (Teen Intervene program).  In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, cooking, and spending time with her family (especially her cat, Gemma and her dog, Molson).  She recently ran her first half marathon!

Courtney is the Program Manager of Horizons Youth Clubhouse. She has a bachelor’s degree in Community Health from SUNY Potsdam. Courtney creates weekly and monthly programming and events for Horizons. She also serves as the connecting bridge between the clubhouse and the community to maintain partnership.
